Food Wars: VEGGIE VS. STARCHY VEGGIE

It’s true! Not all vegetables are created equal when it comes to calories.

Starchy vegetables, such as potatoes, peas and corn, generally contain more calories per cup than non-starchy vegetables like carrots, broccoli, asparagus and spinach. But, starchy veggies are still good sources of dietary fiber and other nutrients.

Choose a colorful variety of vegetables (and fruits) every day as part of a nutrient-rich eating plan.
