Emory Healthy Aging Study – Atlanta’s largest research study focused on aging and age-related diseases (FAQs for Healthy Aging Study).
The big picture: Emory is building a long-term health database to uncover what drives healthy aging and age-related diseases.
Who can join: Anyone. It’s easy to sign up and built for ongoing participation.
What to expect: Participants complete a healthy history questionnaire once a year.
Emory Healthy Brain Study – A focused effort within the Emory Healthy Aging Study (FAQs for the Healthy Brain Study).
The big picture: We are exploring new, less invasive methods to predict and identify Alzheimer’s disease.
Who can join: 50-75 years old who are generally healthy can test for our screening process to determine eligibility.
What to expect: Participants come back every two years to take part in different tests to help researchers track brain health over time (Participant Concerns Handout).
What procedures are included:
- MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Cognitive Testing
- Blood Draw
- Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap)
- Cardio Testing
