Impact of Healthy Aging Study
The Healthy Aging Study is a first-of-its-kind collaborative effort by thousands of participants and a team of clinical researchers to produce long-term data on aging and create healthy living. We aim to discover new ways to detect Alzheimer’s disease, prevent dementia, and increase life expectancy. The information we collect from these studies is invaluable in supporting public health; by building a database of long-term study participants, we’ll be able to compile basic health information and formulate a standard health history, giving a better picture of patterns that lead to Alzheimer’s disease and other types of age-related diseases.
Detect Alzheimer’s Disease
As a participant in the Healthy Aging Study, you’ll complete a brief health history questionnaire online and occasionally be asked to respond to various surveys or complete online memory tasks. During this study, we’ll examine sleep habits, moods, cognitive responses, and activity levels. Some participants may also asked to participate in other sub-studies to further our knowledge specifically about brain health. Overall, we will strive to keep your involvement as simple and easy as possible. The level of participation is up to you, and is completely voluntary.
Support Public Health
While we hope to quickly uncover those markers that detect Alzheimer’s disease, prevent dementia, and increase life expectancy, we acknowledge that it takes time. However, as we start to understand aging, we’ll begin creating a foundation of scientific information that may one day lead to treatments and cures. In time, we hope to make biomarkers for age-related diseases more apparent, and greatly support public health and overall healthy living. This is a study for the ages and, with your participation, will ensure that future generations get to enjoy a long and healthy life.
