2020 - 2021
2020 brought with a it a lot of change for everyone. While we maintained research efforts, we also saw the increase of digital resources. From weekly webinars to more guides and fact sheets, the Emory Healthy Aging Study will continue to prioritizing resources along with its research goals.
2018 - 2019
Over the past year, the Emory Healthy Aging Study has worked to identify how aging affects our bodies and minds. We reached some incredible milestones in 2019. See what we learned, meet the researchers who helped us get there, and the participants who made it all possible.
2017 - 2018
2017 saw the second year of health history questionnaire completions and new milestones. With more than 10,500 people completing their health history questionnaires, our researchers have begun publishing research with the data provided by participants.
2016 - 2017
The Emory Healthy Aging Study kicked off with a strong start. In 2016, more than 7,500 people committed to helping us better understand aging by completing a health history questionnaire. This is just the start for our researchers who are going to work with the data collected.
It has been a big year for the Emory Healthy Brain Study! We are more than halfway to the study recruitment goal, we welcomed new team members, and we have partnered with other Emory programs to bring more engagement and resources to study participants.
While COVID-19 led us to change how certain data was collected, it didn’t keep us from safely conducting research. 2021 brought some big numbers including new federal funding from the National Institute of Aging and more than 1000 completed return visits. Our fight against Alzheimer’s disease continues to gain momentum as more qualified participants from the Emory Healthy Aging Study decide to take action and support our efforts. We continue to see new baseline visits and early study participants have begun returning for their 2-year follow-up visits.
Our efforts to discover Alzheimer’s biomarkers is off to a strong start. Qualified participants of the Emory Healthy Aging Study started taking the next steps to support our fight against Alzheimer’s disease with more than 800 people completing a study visit at the Emory Brain Health Center.
